In a chilling revelation, the Federal Government has warned that schools in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are at risk of attacks by bandits and terrorists.

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, citing intelligence reports from security agencies.

The affected states include:

* Niger
* Kaduna
* Katsina
* Zamfara
* Sokoto
* Kebbi
* Borno
* Yobe
* Adamawa
* Taraba
* Benue
* Plateau
* Nasarawa
* Kogi
* FCT

In response to the threat, the government has ordered heightened security measures around schools in the affected areas. This includes deploying additional security personnel, conducting regular patrols, and installing surveillance cameras.

The Ministry of Education is working closely with security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Police, and Department of State Services (DSS), to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The government has also called on communities to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals around schools.

The news of the threat has raised concerns among parents, who are worried about the safety of their children. Many are considering withdrawing their children from schools in the affected areas.

Security experts believe that the threat is credible and should be taken seriously. They warn that bandits and terrorists may target schools to kidnap students for ransom or carry out other attacks.

Despite the heightened security concerns, the government has urged parents and the public to remain calm. It assures that all necessary measures are being taken to protect schools and ensure the safety of students.

The threat of attacks on schools in 14 states and the FCT is a serious concern that requires immediate action. The government, security agencies, and communities must work together to ensure the safety of our children and educational institutions.
