The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has announced a dedicated phone number and email address for church members and the public to submit evidence related to allegations of homosexuality against two leaders within the church.
This follows reports that Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello and Deacon Oke Mayowa have been suspended from their positions amid claims of misconduct involving young church members.
In a statement issued late Tuesday, signed by RCCG’s National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, the church outlined its commitment to a thorough investigation. The church has appointed the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration to lead the inquiry, which is expected to be completed within two weeks.
The church encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward, emphasizing that only substantiated evidence directly related to the case will be considered. “We encourage anyone with pertinent evidence that could assist our investigation to come forward,” the statement read.
All evidence should be submitted to the Special Assistant via the email address rccgadm@gmail.com or the phone number 09039000700. Pastor Akande underscored the church’s dedication to justice and the importance of transparency in addressing such serious allegations.
As a precautionary measure, the youth ministers have been placed on indefinite suspension and removed from all ministerial duties until the investigation is complete. The church reiterated its foundational principles of holiness and its commitment to upholding its core values, stating, “We will not tolerate any actions that contradict our teachings nor cover up wrongful conduct.”
The statement concluded with an appeal for assistance, urging anyone with tangible evidence to provide the necessary details to aid in resolving the matter.
