In June, a prestigious international business event will bring together key figures from Nigeria’s government and business community.

The annual FIN-Forbes International Business Roundtable and Awards Ceremony will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, featuring an impressive lineup of speakers and honorees.

Scheduled to address the summit are seven Nigerian state governors, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Adamu Fintiri of Adamawa, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, and Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers. They will be joined by several federal ministers, such as the Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and the Education Minister Prof. Tahir Mamman.

Other notable attendees include Nuhu Ribadu, the Chairman of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, as well as the heads of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission and the Financial Investigations Network. The event will also feature the King of Eswatini, HRM Mswati III.

According to the organizers, the summit will focus on exploring investment opportunities and strategies to tackle corruption in order to drive economic growth in Nigeria, across Africa, and globally. The event will culminate in the prestigious Forbes Best of Africa Award Ceremony, honoring distinguished leaders and innovators.

“In an ever-evolving global economy, it’s crucial to recognize and celebrate the achievements of businesses and individuals driving positive change and innovation, particularly in Africa,” said Olayinka Fayomi, the Chairman of FIN. “This event serves as a platform to showcase success stories, inspire investment confidence, and forge meaningful collaborations.”

The annual FIN-Forbes International Business Roundtable aims to continue the long-standing business relationship between Nigeria and Portugal. In 2022, Nigeria exported $1.93 billion worth of goods to Portugal, primarily crude oil, gas, and wood charcoal, while importing malt extract, animal food, and stone processing machinery.
