LAGOS, August 22, 2024 – The Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered (NIM) has conferred its prestigious fellowship status on the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and 149 other distinguished Nigerians.
The recipients were recognized at the NIM 2024 Awards, Fellows and Spouses Day Luncheon held on Thursday in Lagos. The event was themed “Integrating Sustainability into Strategic Decision Making: A Path towards Long Business Success.”
NIM President Dr. Christiana Atako stated that the fellowship upgrade was a testament to the recipients’ exemplary contributions to the institute, the management profession, and the nation. She urged the new fellows to continue leveraging their expertise to serve the institute and the country.
In her keynote address, Business Advisor to the NNPC Chief Financial Officer, Mrs. Hafsatu Abdu-Gusau, emphasized the importance of embedding sustainability criteria into organizational decision-making processes. She highlighted the benefits of sustainable practices, including cost reduction, enhanced brand reputation, and regulatory compliance.
Gen. Musa, in his remarks, underscored the collective responsibility for the nation’s security, calling on Nigerians to support the military in its duty to protect the country. He also praised the NIM for its long-standing role in championing management expertise and good governance in Nigeria.
The event also recognized the institute’s “elder statesmen and women” with life membership awards, as well as other individuals and corporate members for their outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
