Onyinyechi Mark Secures Nigeria’s First Gold at Paris Paralympics, Sets New World Record

In a remarkable achievement for Nigeria, powerlifter Onyinyechi Mark clinched the gold medal in the women’s 61kg category at the ongoing Paris Paralympics.

The 23-year-old athlete showcased her strength by lifting an impressive 150kg.

Mark’s victory, which took place on Friday, saw her outperform competitors from around the globe. China’s Cui Jianjin earned the silver medal with a lift of 140kg, while Mexico’s Amelia Perez secured the bronze with a lift of 130kg.
