Hezbollah, an ally of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, is involved in the ongoing conflict that has intensified in Gaza since Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7. For nearly a year, Israel’s military efforts have primarily targeted Gaza, which is governed by Hamas.
However, Israeli troops have also been engaged in frequent clashes with Hezbollah militants along the northern border. These confrontations have resulted in the deaths of hundreds in Lebanon, predominantly militants, as well as casualties in Israel.
In a related development, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reached out to Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Wednesday to express his condolences following the recent wave of deadly explosions. Erdogan has been a vocal critic of Israel’s military actions in Gaza.
