The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is currently engaged in negotiations with Jose Peseiro regarding a new contract. According to reports, the NFF is prepared to offer the Portuguese coach a monthly salary of €50,000, which matches his previous compensation after accepting a pay reduction to lead the Super Eagles to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 63-year-old’s previous contract expired at the conclusion of the AFCON 2023 finals. Under Peseiro’s guidance, the former coach of Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, the Super Eagles achieved an impressive runner-up position in the tournament.

Since the conclusion of the AFCON, Peseiro has been linked to various coaching positions, with the Algeria Football Federation reportedly displaying significant interest in his services. Peseiro recently disclosed that he has received no less than seven offers from different national teams and clubs.

In the following days, Peseiro intends to make a decision about his future endeavors, finalizing his choice amidst the multitude of opportunities presented to him.
