Abuja, June 28, 2024 – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the results for the supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted from June 21-22, 2024.
According to JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin, a total of 28,835 applicants participated in the supplementary exam, which was necessary for candidates who were unable to undergo biometric verification during the main 2024 UTME administration.
Additionally, the board noted that the supplementary exam provided a second chance for students suspected of engaging in examination misconduct during the initial UTME sitting.
“The exercise, which recorded a huge success nationwide, was marked by heightened security measures put in place by the board to preclude any instance of examination infractions,” Dr. Benjamin stated. “As such, some nefarious characters who had attempted to impersonate bona fide candidates were apprehended and handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and prosecution.”
JAMB emphasized that it will continue to deploy state-of-the-art technology before, during, and after its examinations to ensure no candidate benefits from any acts of irregularity. The board urged all applicants to refrain from engaging in any form of misconduct during their exams.
Candidates were also warned against attempting to solicit score upgrades from fraudsters or tampering with their result sheets to manufacture higher scores. Instead, JAMB advised students to check their supplementary UTME results by texting “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number registered at the start of the application process.
The release of the supplementary UTME results marks another milestone in JAMB’s ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity and security of Nigeria’s higher education entrance examinations.
