Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has shared his excitement after making his debut in the Champions League, contributing to Bayer Leverkusen’s impressive 4-0 victory over Feyenoord on Thursday.
In a post shared by Fabrizio Romano on X, Boniface reflected on his remarkable journey from a young football enthusiast to a player in one of the world’s premier tournaments. He recalled, “From paying 30 naira to watch the Champions League… to playing my first Champions League game. Proud of this moment.”
Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2023 from Union SG in a deal worth over €21.7 million. The German club will be looking to defend their Bundesliga title against Wolfsburg on Sunday, aiming to build on their successful campaign that ended Bayern Munich’s dominance of 11 consecutive league titles.
