In a surprising revelation, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has disclosed that one of his children has undergone a gender transition. The billionaire businessman shared the details during a live interview with psychologist Jordan Peterson on X, the social media platform.

Musk expressed concerns about the process, stating that he was “tricked” into signing documents allowing his child, previously known as Xavier, to undergo puberty blockers. “It’s very possible for adults to manipulate children who are having an actual identity crisis into believing that they are the wrong gender,” he said, citing the state of California’s new legislation, Assembly Bill 1955, which allows schools to keep a child’s sexual orientation or gender identity confidential from their parents.

The child in question, now known as Vivian Jenna Wilson, was born a twin with her brother Griffin in 2004 in California. Vivian, who attended the prestigious Crossroads K-12 school in Santa Monica, where annual tuition can cost up to $50,000, reportedly hid her true gender identity from her father for several years.

At the age of 18, in 2022, Vivian officially adopted her mother Justine’s maiden name and filed a petition to change both her name and legal gender. The court documents, which weren’t made public until after Father’s Day, simply stated: “Xavier Alexander Musk to Vivian Jenna Wilson. The gender of the petitioner is changed from male to female.”

Musk has expressed a strained relationship with his daughter, disagreeing with her political views, which he claims have shifted “beyond socialism to being a full communist and thinking that anyone rich is evil.” The billionaire has attributed Vivian’s educational experiences at the progressive California school as the reason for her political stance.

This personal revelation comes as Musk has also cited the state’s new legislation as one of the reasons for his decision to relocate SpaceX’s headquarters from California.
