Tragic Accident Claims Passenger’s Life in Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria – In a devastating incident, an unidentified female passenger lost her life when the car she was traveling in collided head-on with a stationary 20-foot containerized truck at Isolo Underbridge on the route to Oshodi, Lagos State.

The accident occurred on Friday, sending shockwaves through the community.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Kia car, bearing registration number KWL-475CZ, was traveling at high speed when it crashed into the immobile truck on the highway. The impact of the collision resulted in the unfortunate demise of the female passenger, while the car driver sustained injuries.

Authorities swiftly responded to the scene, with LASTMA officials and the Nigeria Police working together to rescue the trapped individual inside the vehicle. The lifeless victim was carefully placed in a body bag and subsequently handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, which will oversee the transportation of the deceased to the morgue.

The damaged car has been relocated to the Olosan Police Station as part of the ongoing investigation into the accident. However, the recovery of the abandoned containerized truck from the road is pending, as the agency awaits the arrival of heavy-duty equipment such as a crane and a low bed.

As of now, the identities of the victims remain unknown, and authorities are working diligently to gather more information. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for vigilance while traveling.

The community mourns the loss of the female passenger and extends its condolences to her family and loved ones. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, with authorities committed to determining the cause and taking appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
