Military Foils Operations of Illegal Weapon Factory Fueling Plateau and Kaduna Crisis

The military troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) have successfully uncovered and dismantled an illegal weapons manufacturing factory in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The discovery of the illegal gun manufacturing factory was successful after a week-long intelligence operation. The factory was located in Kafanchan, Jama’a LGA of Kaduna State.

The Army recovered over 20 cache of automatic weapons and arrested two individuals running the manufacturing factory.  The illegal act of the individuals running the manufacturing factory has been fuelling the crises in Plateau state and Kaduna. The authorities described the dismantling of the illegal weapon factory as ”a significant step” in tackling illicit arms manufacturing and reducing the crises in the region.

This is not the first time that the military has uncovered an illegal weapon factory in the region. The discovery of the illegal weapon factory highlights the need for increased security measures to prevent the proliferation of illegal weapons in the region.
