In a distressing incident, a Nigerian man who relocated to the United Kingdom in 2022 has been convicted of beating his wife to death with their son’s skateboard, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Olubunmi Abodunde, a 48-year-old individual, and his wife Taiwo, 41 years old, had migrated from Nigeria to the UK and were parents to three children. Their relationship was marred by frequent arguments over alleged infidelity and financial disputes.

According to sources, Abodunde had been the subject of multiple investigations by Suffolk Police regarding domestic violence. He was scheduled to face trial for murder, but on Wednesday, prior to the commencement of the jury selection process, he changed his plea to guilty.

During the disturbing incident, law enforcement officers heard a series of loud noises emanating from inside the residence, to which Abodunde had gained access despite being prohibited by bail conditions imposed the previous day, following another violent altercation.

When officers finally entered the premises approximately 25 minutes later, they discovered the lifeless body of Taiwo Abodunde, with severe head injuries allegedly caused by the brutal attack.

Judge Martyn Levett, presiding over the case at Ipswich Crown Court, conveyed to the defendant that the only plausible sentence for such a grievous crime was life imprisonment.

In light of these events, Suffolk Constabulary has referred the matter to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC). The IOPC has confirmed that three officers are currently under investigation.
