The Lagos State Police Command has issued a public apology for a case of mistaken identity regarding the recent arrest of a well-known Nigerian disc jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch.

In a statement released on Thursday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, acknowledged the mix-up and extended an apology through his official X handle. It was clarified that the individual apprehended by the police was actually DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch.

Hundeyin stated, “We regret the confusion caused by our initial report. The person in custody is DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to media outlets such as Linda Ikeji, BBC, and TVC, to whom I provided confirmation earlier today. Our apologies also go out to DJ Switch.”

Further details will be provided in due course as the situation unfolds.
