Kogi State Commissioner of Police Presents N39 Million to Families of Deceased Officers

In a heartfelt display of support, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, took it upon himself to present substantial financial assistance to the families of 25 deceased police officers.

Acting on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Commissioner Onuoha handed over cheques totaling a remarkable N39 million.

This compassionate act was announced by SP William Aya, the official spokesperson of the Kogi State Police Command, in a statement released on Thursday. The event itself took place on Wednesday, during which Commissioner Onuoha revealed that the generous gesture was made possible through the implementation of the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes. These initiatives were designed to enhance the welfare of families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty, as well as to provide vital support to officers who have suffered accidents while carrying out their responsibilities.

Commissioner Onuoha emphasized that this commendable action serves as an encouragement for active-duty officers to remain dedicated and diligent in their service. He expressed the Nigeria Police Force’s deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by both the deceased officers and those who have experienced accidents while working to safeguard the nation.
