In a commendable move, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has appointed Mr Bayo Ojeyinka, an indigene of Osun State, as a Permanent Secretary in the Anambra State Civil Service.

This appointment has garnered widespread praise from civil servants in the state, who believe it to be well-deserved.

Mr Bayo Ojeyinka’s journey to this prestigious position began during his service year when he received recognition as the best-serving corps member. Impressed by his dedication and competence, the state government retained him upon the completion of his service in 1985.

Expressing his gratitude for the promotion on Wednesday, March 7, Mr Ojeyinka humbly acknowledged the honor bestowed upon him. He stated, “I am incredibly thrilled to be considered for this role. I recognize that this is not merely a right but rather a remarkable privilege, considering the many brilliant officers who also deserved such recognition.”

He went on to express his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Charles Soludo and the people of Anambra State, whom he has called home for the past 29 years. “I am immensely grateful for all the love, kindness, and support I have received from Ndi Anambra,” he said. “In my new capacity, I pledge to repay the state by working with increased efficiency, productivity, transparency, and fairness.”

Mr Ojeyinka also extended his gratitude to his colleagues, specifically acknowledging the Head of Service, Barrister Mrs Theodora Igwegbe, for her invaluable support. He assured everyone that he would strive to meet the high expectations placed upon him.

This appointment not only reflects Mr Ojeyinka’s individual accomplishments but also serves as a testament to the commitment of the Anambra State government to recognize and reward excellence within its civil service.
