On Tuesday, Rayo Vallecano announced that they have parted ways with their coach, Francisco Rodriguez, due to a disappointing performance in LaLiga, with only one victory in 14 matches. Rodriguez, aged 45, had taken charge of the team in June, succeeding Andoni Iraola, who departed to join English Premier League side Bournemouth.
Currently positioned in 14th place, Rayo Vallecano finds themselves seven points clear of the relegation zone. However, their recent form has been concerning, as they have suffered defeats in four out of their last five games.
According to local reports, Inigo Perez, who served as the assistant to Iraola last season, is among the top contenders to replace Rodriguez as the new coach.
