Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, expressed confidence that his team will not be intimidated by the enthusiastic home crowd at the Alassane Quattara Stadium on Sunday.

Emphasizing the determination of his players, he stated that they would give their utmost to secure victory and claim the trophy in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Having previously faced Cote d’Ivoire in the competition, the three-time champions are prepared for their second encounter with the Elephants.

In their previous group stage clash last month, the Super Eagles emerged victorious with a 1-0 scoreline. Peseiro further affirmed that his players are ready to accomplish a second triumph over the hosts.

“It’s a big game for us, it’s a final, we fought hard to be here. I’m happy for my team.

“We did a fantastic job, amazing job, we deserved to be in the final.

“It’s going to be a tough game in a good stadium. It’s going to be a full stadium which will create a good atmosphere.

“I always prefer to play in a full stadium than an empty one. I believe this will show our commitment and capacity.

“My players must show same desire and commitment on the pitch.”

The match is scheduled to commence at 9pm Nigerian time.
